Very soon after I started hotrodding the RocketSled, I found it was too fast to pass tech. Folk’ll cheat thinking tech is something that’s more a pain in the ass than anything else. I disagree. A number of completely disparate events brought me to this feature. Michael Jackson dieing had me digging into my MP3 archives for an album or two. This is not about him. (Of course, it can’t hurt me in the Google rankings either.
) A year ago, the wife bought a turntable, with the intent of turning it into a halloween prop. And I ran across a box with a half dozen records in it this afternoon. My son asked if any of them were ‘Michael Jackson’, and sure enough, Thriller’s in there. Read the rest of this entry »

As will be apparent in the upcoming posts, The family and I just got done with an extended vacation in Blaine, Washington. Upon hearing that the wife and I were gearheads, the local carshow asked if we would help judge. I’m one of those fathers. The ones that send their own project to the science fair. Well, actually, I’m NOT, but I think the request made of my kids seemed a little unfair for kindergartners. And I wanted them to win.
And, it struck a chord in my past. My Father died a few years ago, and this is a project he did with me, albeit when I was in Junior High. Is this how technically advanced kids are these days? That they have access to aerospace technology in kindergarten? Read the rest of this entry »
